I am the proud owner of Prestige Home Healthcare which is a Melbourne based business that specialises in private home based nursing and personal care services.
My background is in Nursing and I have since had the opportunity to study business as well. This has helped me immensely in the past 4.5 years since I commenced Prestige.
Prestige is focussed on providing an exceptional service to privately funded clients.
On a personal note I have a fantastic wife Lisa and we were married 1.5 years ago. My passion outside work is long distance triathlon and I find this a brilliant stress release and a great goal to motivate exercise and healthy living.
I have 3 brothers and a sister and love spending time with them as well as friends.
My favourite holiday destination is Noosa and I hope to one day travel to France to watch the ‘tour de France’.
I am passionate about the private nursing and care industry and am excited about my new role as President. I look forward to providing some brilliant opportunities for our members and to see the association continue to flourish and develop.
Glenda started 11 years ago with Jennifer Swan, Registered Nurse of some 30 years standing. As a member I provide another interstate view of the situation and am keen to continue to help the Association to provide relevant services and information Australia wide.
Debbie was until recently owner of Best fo Care in the Barwon region. The service was established in 1994 by Ann Cotterell, my co-Director, borne from her desire to offer a real alternative to residential facilities. Debbie joined Ann as Co-Director in 2005.
BOC provide in-home personal care, nursing, respite, and palliative care throughout the Barwon Region in Victoria and, to a smaller extent, source relief staff to aged care facilities.
Debbie's background is in nursing and disabilities, specialising in intellectual disability, and training personal care staff.
In a former business she undertook the feasibility study for the Companion Card and was a consultant within the disability employment sector.
Personally she can never get enough of travelling. You will generally find her in Asia somewhere in the sun when holidaying. Debbie also loves yoga and property.
Debie's husband Tim keeps everything flowing smoothly at home from where he runs two internet businesses, between caring for their much-pampered cat.
Debbie is excited about her involvement with the committee and assisting in its growth and development, and getting to know more of the members.
Margaret has been involved in community nursing and home care service delivery since developing Hunter Nursing Agencies in1983. Prior to this she worked in acute care and midwifery. She has participated at local, state and national levels in the development of community nursing and home care services which has been rewarding and assisted her in ongoing professional development and training.
After 35 years nursing, Margaret made the decision to sell her nursing service with the intention of reducing her workload in order to create some time to smell the roses and enjoy her first grandchild.
I commenced Subee home nursing and respite services in Coffs Harbour in 1993. Our services have branched out into Grafton and later into the Newcastle/ Hunter and Central coast areas. Our focus areas are numerous brokerage arrangements, outsourcing of staff to ACF’s, insurance clients, as well as clients within the welfare sector. In May 2008, the service was appointed agent for Air Liquide Health Care taking on home oxygen services providing cylinders and oxygen concentrators to the Coffs Harbour and Grafton communities. I have now subsequently expanded into sleep services and am the local agent for CPAP and BIPAP machines, supply and service.
My special interests include head and spinal injury rehabilitation and aged and palliative care. I am currently studying clinical management through the College of Nursing.
I am 40yo, married to Mick who is our human resources manager and have 7 ½ yo triplets and a 5 ½ yo. (Michaela, Jack, Georgia and Rhys). Now that all of the kids are at school, I have increased my work commitments, thus taking on this role within the APNS committee.
I am looking forward to meeting all members at our members days and conference in March.
I am the Manager of our family-owned business; which provides in-home assistance to clients across the Western Sydney and Blue Mountains areas. I am in the enviable position of having seen the business grow since its inception in 1995. Since 2005 I have been formally involved in the day to day running of the organisation and I am now enjoying helping to guide the business into the future.
We are based in North West Sydney in historic Windsor and currently have 250 staff providing personal care, domestic assistance and respite for more than 40 organisations. We are proud to be an approved provided for Home Care NSW and Veterans’ Home Care.
My previous career experience has been in local government community, cultural and communications management. My husband and I have two great young boys (aged 5 and 10) and have enjoyed restoring our heritage home and garden over the past few years. We enjoy the great outdoors and frequently make use of the beautiful Blue Mountains World Heritage Area on our doorstep.
I appreciate the opportunity of being able to contribute to the continued development of APNS and look forward to working with other members.
